Moving is not an easy task, and it can spiral out of control if you do not make sure that you are organized from the get go. In order to be organized, there are a few things that you need to do, and a few things that you need to get. In fact, moving without some of these supplies can quickly become downright disastrous. In order to avoid problems, you should make sure to get prepared long before you plan on actually moving.

Supplies

There are various supplies that will make your truck rental experience much easier. Here are the things that you need to have on hand at all times.

· Boxes – Make sure that you have a variety of different boxes. If you plan on moving dishes, obtaining dish boxes is a good idea. Special clothing boxes will also make your move a lot easier. Make sure that you get boxes for all of your needs, especially electronics, lamps, mirrors, and dishes.

· Tape – Don’t buy the cheap stuff or the stuff that is not made for moving. In many cases, the tape is the only thing that stands between you and a disaster. You can use a tape gun or dispenser, or even use a no gun technique to secure your boxes.

· Paper – Packing paper is a must for fragile or breakable items. You should always try to use paper that has not been printed on as newspaper can leave smudge marks on anything that you wrap in it.

· Stretch wrap – This plastic wrap can be used for various tasks, and thus, you should make sure to have a couple of different widths on hand for your move. Use it to secure CDs to stands or to protect various pieces of furniture from dust and scratching.

· Electronics bags – Many of your electronic goods may be sensitive to the static electricity that is created by movement. In order to prevent damage to your things, you can purchase special anti-static bags that will prevent this buildup.

· Furniture pads – These thick, blanket like pads are used for protecting furniture from scratches and other damage that shifting in the back of a truck rental can cause. You can substitute your own linens for purchased furniture pads.

· Bags – Staying organized is the key, and having a variety of different sized plastic bags on hand can really make a difference. These bags can be used to pack almost anything, and you can write on them as well.

· Labels and Markers – Every time that you fill and seal a box, you should also label it. You might want to simply use a marker to label boxes, but you can also purchase specialty tapes and labels that will stick to the boxes.

By having all of these things on hand when you are packing and loading a truck rental, you can make sure that your move is well organized and easy. You may not see the payoff right away, but you will see it when you reach your destination and you begin to unpack. Having an organized move with not only save you time, but it can save you money and stress as well.
